Choon Choi is an architect based in Seoul and Associate Professor at the Seoul National University. His practice and research focus on projects that expand the disciplinary boundary of architecture into the fields of visual arts and historical research. He has participated in group exhibitions at the Ilmin Museum (2013), Art Sonje (2014), and the Korean National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (2016). His published architectural projects include Jeomchon Middle School, Kkeummaru, Maeil Innovation Center, La Cucina Namsan, and Sangha Farm.

SGHS is an architectural office that focuses on ‘narraitve and tectonic,’ founded by Hyun Seok Kang and Gunho Kim in 2015. Hyun Seok Kang studied at Sungkyunkwan University and Cornell University, and practiced at Basel office of Herzog & de Meuron. Gunho Kim graduated from Sungkyunkwan University and worked for Junglim Architecture and dmppartners. After, he graduated from Cornell University and Harvard Graduate School of Design. SGHS participated in Graphic Design, 2005~2015, Seoul at Ilmin Museum of Art and Rethinking Space: Voyage of Imagination at MMCA in 2016. In 2017, SGHS was selected as a finalist for Young Architects Program 2017.

Hyun-Suk Seo studies the relationship between spaces and theatricality in the context of modernity. Seo has created site-specific performances such as From the Sea (Tokyo, 2014), Unsympathetic, Autumn Wind (Tokyo, 2013), Soul Prostitution (Seoul, 2011), and Heterotopia (Seoul, 2010–2011), and films including Zoom Out / Zone Out (2013–2014), One Dream (2014), The Lost Voyage (2012–), and Derivation (2012). He teaches at the Yonsei University Graduate School of Communication & Arts.

Jidon Jung studied Film and Creative Writing at Dongguk University. He made his debut in the professional literature world as his short story A Blind Owl was selected for the New Writer’s Awards of ‘Literature and Society’, the quarterly literary magazine published by Moonji Publishing Company. He was awarded the Best of 2015 Young Writers Prize for Architecture or Revolution and 2016 Moonji Literary Prize for Pale Words. Jung continues to question the meaning of history, present and future in his work by questioning the relationship between truth and fiction. He also wrote A Contrived City for the epilogue of the catalogue of the Experiment of Architopia exhibition in 2015. He published a collection of short stories Like I Fight and a fiction A Little Coward, Coward’s New Party and is a co-author of a literature critique The Pleasure of Literature.

BARE is an architectural studio based in Seoul established by Jinhong Jeon and Yunhee Choi. Since 2014, the studio has engaged in research and practice questioning how architecture can respond to changes over time and environment. Jinhong Jeon graduated from the Architectural Association and has worked at OMA (Netherlands) and Space Group (Korea). Yunhee Choi graduated from the University of Cambridge and the Architectural Association and has worked at Wilkinson Eyre Architects and Jason Bruges Studio (UK). She is currently a Visiting Professor at Korea National University of Arts. BARE's works include the installation of a kinetic pavilion for Imagining New Eurasia (2015) at the Asia Culture Center. BARE was awarded Arumjigi Heritage Tomorrow Prize (2015), Young Architects Program Finalist (2016) and invited to exhibit in the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism (2017).

Kyoungtae Kim (EH) holds an MA in Art Direction at ECAL/Ecole cantonale d’art de Lausanne in Switzerland and a BA in Visual Communication Design from Chung-Ang University. Kim mainly explores the methodology of visualization and interpretation of objects, and often collaborates with practitioners and curators in various sectors. He participated in exhibitions such as MMCA Seoul’s Paper and Concrete (2016), SEMA’s 2016 Seoul Focus: No Longer Objects (2016), and Ilmin Museum’s Graphic Design Seoul (2016). He has also published photography books including Angles (Press Room, 2016), Cathédrale de Lausanne 1505–2022 (Media Bus, 2014), and On The Rocks (Your Mind, 2013).

Sungwoo Kim studied Architecture and Urban Research at Seoul National University and the Berlage Institute in Rotterdam. He is running N.E.E.D. Architecture and has researched on Euljiro, the downtown Seoul area together with Prof. Jongho Lee. As a Seoul public architect, he is participating in redeveloping of public areas utilizing the mega-structure of downtown Seoul. He has received numerous awards and honors for the representative design works including Sanggye residential complex, The Book Company HQ, and Korea Craft Brewery.
